Are you interested in a career as a Large Goods Vehicle Driver?

The DFDS LGV Driver Apprenticeship is more than just a regular apprenticeship programme. The scheme includes CAT C+E driver training, to ensure apprentices gain more knowledge and experience than a standard newly qualified driver.

Training will take place within the workplace, and you will also attend off-the-job training sessions at the state-of-the-art Modal training centre in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire. Training will include LGV theory, masterclasses delivered by industry specialists, simulator training, practical driver training and a long-term development strategy.

You will be mentored throughout the Apprenticeship and will receive tuition from experienced DFDS employees and accredited driving instructors.

  • Completing driver training towards CAT C and C+E licences
  • Manual work within the warehouse, loading and unloading vehicles
  • Being mentored and attending off the job training
  • Accompanying drivers, working as a drivers’ mate
  • Strapping loads down
  • Assisting operational staff
  • Providing exceptional customer service to clients
  • All other associated duties as required

Employment is subject to completion of a medical.
