A large construction company working on projects in the Barking and Dagenham area is looking to employ an apprentice in the “Document Controller” role. The successful candidate will complete the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

The role of the document controller will be to:

  • Maintain the Project filing system
  • Prepare documents for storage/archiving
  • Prepare and maintain Project drawing’s and correspondence (where required this will include dispatching them)
  • Uploading of all new project information to the relevant systems
  • Aid in preparation of contract folders (including printing)
  • Managing the data input and ensuring it up to date and accurate
  • Assisting the Estimators with issuing of information
  • Quality checking of all document at the first stage of the workflows for compliance

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Competent in using Microsoft office, proven use of databases is essential
  • Confident telephone manner (both inbound and outbound)

Personal qualities

  • Punctual, motivated, a good team player, organised, have attention to detail, be respectful to their customers and able to identify their needs
  • Experience of working for or within the construction industry is desirable but not essential

Desired qualifications

GCSE or equivalents in English and maths at grade 4/C minimum.

Future prospects

A full time role may be offered on completion of the apprenticeship.
