Ellerby Country Inn Is able to offer an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Chef.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learning 'on the Job' we expect you to prepare, cook and serve dishes in our, busy kitchen
  • You will be taught all aspects of working in a busy country inn kitchen with a great team. Where contribution and effort are rewarded

In addition, we expect you to help with the following:

  • Run kitchen service   with the assistance of the Senior Chef and kitchen support
  • Ensure that dishes are prepared und cooked according to the specific restaurant standards
  • Work with the kitchen support team in   maintaining standards and setting an example
  • Ensure that stock is rotated and controlled within the specification of the kitchen    
  • Ensure the cleaning schedule is adhered to and that cleaning tasks are delegated as appropriate
  • Ensure full understanding and implementation of the functional administration of the restaurant
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements under the H&S act 1974 and Food Hygiene
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are carefully adhered to
