Duties will include:

  • Work with children under 5 as part of a well-established and knowledgeable team
  • Track children’s progress and learn how to incorporate this and implement into planning
  • Learn about child development and use this knowledge practically
  • Communicate with parents, colleagues and other professionals
  • Look after the daily needs of children in our care and help to nurture and develop them through their time with us at nursery

About the employer

We are a Children’s Day Nursery located in Bamber Bridge, Preston. We are registered for 98 children per day and have 34 staff members.

Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

This includes:

  • Main learning objectives: Understand legislation, safeguarding, protection and welfare of children, planning, observation and assessment, promote child development, plan, lead and review play opportunities, developing children’s skills.
  • Functional Skills – if required
  • EPA (End Point Assessment) – Towards the final few months of the apprenticeship you will complete your End Point Assessment. This includes a professional discussion underpinned by portfolio. A knowledge test. All assessment methods will be conducted and graded by an independent EPAO
  • This Apprenticeship is completed within the workplace. You will be assessed through written work, verbal discussion and observation throughout your training. You will be given time by your employer to complete portfolio work, attend training, workplace shadowing and any other opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge
