Duties will include:

  • Strip pump and clean all parts
  • Inspection of pump to determine cause of failure or loss of performance
  • Assess action required and spares required
  • Write up report of findings
  • Reassemble pump
  • Keep workshop area clean and tidy
  • Take and record incoming goods/pumps
  • Assist with packing and despatch of pumps and goods
  • Report when stock is required

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Previous General Engineering – minimum of 1 year
  • Good knowledge of tools
  • Mechanical Aptitude and a Practical Analytical Mind
  • Interest in how and why equipment works

Personal qualities

  • Ability to work in a small, friendly team – flexible approach to duties, happy to ‘muck in’.
  • Can do approach
  • Well presented, take pride in appearance, because customers visit premises
  • Heavy lifting involved – must be fit and strong

Desired qualifications

  • Minimum of C/4 in English and maths GCSE or equivalent.
  • Forklift licence is desirable, although training available for the suitable candidate
