General Administration Duties:

  • Action emails from patients coming into the general email address.  Ensure these are dealt with on a daily basis
  • Forward emails to the appropriate staff member or clinician
  • Review e-consult emails daily forwarding to the appropriate person and action amin e-consults
  • Support the reception team at busy times taking calls, making appointments and dealing with patient queries
  • Cover for other admin posts as required.
  • Maintain, update and monitor computerised registration data base
  • Ensure all new registrations are entered onto the database
  • Update the database for all patient change of registration status as notified
  • Ensure all deductions and FP 69 notices are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Monitor accuracy of registration database producing any necessary reports as required
  • Ensure medical records requested for return to the CCG/Health Authority are retrieved and dealt with in the appropriate manner
  • Ensure that new patient medical records are accepted and filed in the appropriate manner
  • Monitor GP – GP ensuring that all queries are dealt with
  • Monitor registration workflow ensuring that all incoming notifications are actions in a timely manner

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others’ health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health & Safety policy, to include:

  • Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines
  • Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
  • Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills
  • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
  • Reporting potential risks identified

Desired qualifications

GCSE (or equivalent) 9-5 /A*-C in maths and English desired.

Future prospects

May be offered a permanent role at the end of Apprenticeship.

Personal/Professional Development:

The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment, such training to include:

  • Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development
  • Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work

The Practice was founded in 1970 by Dr Jane Chomet.

Our philosophy is to provide an efficient and caring service with a personal and family-oriented approach.

We are a training practice and at times we have GP registrars, trainee counsellors, medical students and practice nurses in attendance. Your consent will be sought prior to consultation if this person(s) can sit in or if the consultation is to be video recorded.

We also have additional doctors doing surgeries, who form part of the practice team.
