The role of Warehouse apprentice is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing and successful company based in West Yorkshire. ACS are a dedicated technology and consumables supplier in the B2B market, providing services to businesses of all sizes across the UK.

The Apprentice Training Programme is facilitated by a dedicated Training Manager and Facilities Team who will teach, coach and provide feedback to ensure that you can fulfil the requirements of this and your future role.

You will learn how to fulfil orders, manage time and inventory effectively as input accurate information in ACS’s data management system. The opportunity to develop into a management role may be available for the correct candidate.

Core and Essential Functions of This Role:

  • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, by hand or with a forklift truck
  • Checking for damaged or missing items
  • Sorting stock for storage in the warehouse
  • Taking goods to the appropriate storage space and storing correctly
  • Keeping a careful record of the stock on the warehouse management system
  • Potential training to operate a forklift truck to move and rearrange goods and items
  • Picking orders as part of a team
  • Organising transfers and loading goods on to delivery vehicles
  • Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse
  • Following workplace health and safety rules at all times

Attend essential training. ACS is a quality orientated company, as such you are expected to work towards all our QMS procedures and processes. You’re also expected to carry out any other appropriate tasks that are deemed necessary for your role.

As an apprentice you will be offered a high level of training to be able to successfully fulfil your role with the opportunity to go onto a full-time Warehouse/Trainee Warehouse Management role after the completion of a successful apprenticeship. You will learn on the job whilst studying for your qualification, to prepare you to be part of ACS’s future success.

Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative.

Delivery Method:

This apprenticeship will be delivered through work based learning. They will also receive a visit once a month in their place of work from their assessor, where delivery will take place on a one to one basis. In addition, learners will need to be allocated 20% of their contracted hours per week to concentrate on any development activities set. Employers must satisfy themselves that apprentices are ready for their end point assessment.

Apprentices must demonstrate that they meet the following criteria:

Achieved a minimum Level 1 English and maths and taken test for Level 2.

Satisfactory completion of the formal training plan agreed with the apprentice by the employer and sufficient evidence in the form of a portfolio to allow the apprentice to consistently demonstrate knowledge, skills and behaviours as described in the standard.

The end-point assessment is synoptic and takes place at the end of the apprentice’s learning and development (final three months). It will consist of a performance assessment in the workplace - logbook / portfolio of evidence. Knowledge/practical assessments and assignments.
