Motif8 have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operative Apprentice to join the team. The company is a market leader in garment decoration offering embroidery, screen printing, vinyl and sublimation. Other services include, Digital Transfer, Embroidery, Print, Screen Printing, CAD Cut Printing and Design Work. The company also produces banners, flags, mugs, mouse mats and coasters.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To receive and check off deliveries
  • Pick garments for orders and despatch completed orders
  • Receive & sign for deliveries, ensuring that the correct addresses are on all boxes and the quantity signed for matches the number of boxes received
  • Check each delivery against the delivery note, ensuring all contents are correct. In the event of an error, inform the Production Manager. (Delivery notes are to be handed to the Accounts Dept.)
  • Using the order forms, pick garments for orders, ensuring that the correct type, size, colour and quantity are picked
  • Orders which have been completely picked are to be moved up for production as the weeks arrive
  • Ensure that orders’ statuses are marked on the production sheet
  • Orders that are outstanding are to be kept aside and fulfilled as garments are delivered
  • Orders that have been completed are to be re-counted before despatch can begin
  • Each dispatched order is to be boxed, taped and labelled correctly
  • Orders that require collection are to be identified to the Sales Dept. who will call the customer
  • Completed order forms are to be given to Accounts for production of invoices

Requirements and prospects

  • Good communication skills
  • Basic numeracy
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Can use a palletiser

Personal qualities

  • Good attention to detail
  • Good level of fitness as you will be on your feet all day and moving heavy boxes
  • Able to work quickly and accurately 

Desired qualifications

  • 4 GCSEs grades 3/D or higher including maths and English

Future prospects

  • Potential to become Warehouse Manager at a later date on successful completion of the apprenticeship
