As part of your apprenticeship programme, you will carry out a range of duties such as helping to organise playtime activities and planning and assisting in projects for games and exercise sessions.

Part of your daily duties will be to take part in art and craft activities, this will be a good opportunity to get to know the children and create a bond between each individual.

You must make sure that the children’s safety and welfare is a priority at all times as well as making all activity sessions fun and enjoyable.

An important part of any company’s requirements is to make sure that all health and safety procedures are followed in the workplace at all times, and all the equipment is put away at the end of each day.

Duties will also include helping to build the children's individual portfolios, preparation of meals (if required) and helping to provide an effective handover to parents.

The successful individual will be supervised throughout their apprenticeship by a fully trained member of staff, who will support them in all aspects of your role for this position.

After having completed the Level 2 in Childcare, you will have the opportunity to progress within this nursery onto higher levels qualifications and a more senior position.

In order to be successful for this position, you will need to complete an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.

This will be arranged by the employer after successfully completing the initial interview.

The Apprenticeship in Child Care includes:
Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Standard

Most aspects of the qualification and training will be delivered at your workplace where you will be supported throughout your training by your employer. You will have regular visits every 6 to 12 weeks from your designated assessor who will help you, and monitor your progression throughout your apprenticeship.

As an additional qualification you will also achieve Emergency and Paediatric First Aid, and a Health and Safety Certificate, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.
