The White Hart Hotel, Hayle are looking for a hardworking and passionate individual to join them as a Commis Chef Apprentice and gain an insight into the industry.

Level 2 (GCSE)
You will be working alongside our Head Chef and daily duties will include:
- Food preparation
- Cooking menu dishes including starters and desserts
- Adhering to food hygiene practices
- Administering food temperature checks
- Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the kitchen
- Assisting with cleaning
- Assisting with deliveries

- Communication skills
- Happy to work under instruction

- Understanding to the needs of the business if customer demand dictates, i.e. flexible around start and finish times
- Able to use own initiative

- Team plater
- Sense of humour
GCSE or equivalent Grade C/4 in maths and English.
There may be an opportunity to become a permanent member of staff upon full completion of the apprenticeship.

About the employer
The White Hart Hotel - the original building was originally built for Henry Harvey, brother in law of Richard Trevithick.
With free Wi-Fi in public areas, The White Hart Hotel dates back to 1838, and is situated in the centre of Hayle in Cornwall.
Rooms are elegant in style, and feature an en-suite bathroom, mini fridge, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms feature original works of art.
The restaurant is also decorated with original artwork and quirky antiques. A wide range of delicious homemade meals are served, made from local ingredients. There is an à la carte menu along with lighter meals, bar snacks and desserts.

Assessor support will be given in the workplace.
College attendance will be required at Cornwall College Camborne.
You will be required to undertake Functional Skills in English and maths (if not already held)
