Johnsons Hotel Linen by Afonwen, specialises in supplying the corporate 4-star market and the budget hotel sector is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Apprentice to join their brand new Leeds site.

This is very much a hands-on role, in a busy and challenging environment in which you will provide vital support to the business and contribute with the smooth running of the organisation in a small team.

As our Engineering Maintenance Apprentice, you will train to become a fully qualified Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Engineer working as part of our Engineering Maintenance team. You will need ‘A can-do; attitude and have Bags of enthusiasm.

As our Engineering Maintenance Apprentice your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of the Maintenance Team ensuring all equipment is operating correctly
  • Ensuring that all logs and job sheets are filled in
  • Complete PPM tasks as per machine maintenance schedule
  • Ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard, whilst complying with the Company’s Health and Safety requirements to ensure the safety of yourself and others
  • Ensuring that your working area is clean and tidy on completion of any job/task
  • Installing and maintaining new and existing equipment, whilst ensuring production is not interrupted

Engineering Technician (Mechatronics Maintenance) Apprenticeship Level 3, 42 months plus 3 months EPA.

This apprenticeship will be delivered through a mixture of college and work based learning. Successful candidates will attend our Printworks Campus one day per week (2 days in the first year) to learn the skills/ knowledge required to be successful within this role. They will also receive a visit once a month in their place of work from their assessor, where delivery will take place on a one to one basis.

In addition learners will need to be allocated 20% of their contracted hours per week to concentrate on any development activities set.
