As an apprentice, no previous experience is necessary as you will be trained in key areas of:
- Working from drawings
- Operation of multiple machines
- Meeting deadlines
- Following & adhering to safe working procedures
Must be able to work as part of a team, as well as independently, therefore able to use their own initiative and take their own responsibility for time management.
This apprenticeship is a great opportunity for any candidate that is keen to build a career in the sheet metal fabrication industry and become a competent fabricator.
Requirements and prospects
Good communication skills and basic numeracy required.
Must be able to work as part of a team, as well as independently, therefore able to use their own initiative and take their own responsibility for time management. Good time keeping in respect of punctuality and reliability and a good eye for detail.
Should have GCSE or equivalent Maths and English A*-C/9-4.
Further potential to progress onto the Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship.
Things to consider

12 months plus 3 months EPA.
This apprenticeship will be delivered through a mixture of college and work based learning.
Successful candidates will attend our Printworks Campus two days per week to learn the skills/ knowledge required to be successful within this role.
They will also receive a visit once a month in their place of work from their assessor, where delivery will take place on a one to one basis.
In addition learners will need to be allocated 20% of their contracted hours per week to concentrate on any development activities set.
