We are a busy Vet Surgery looking for an Animal Welfare Care Assistant Apprentice. The right applicant will experience assisting the animals and Vets through the day. Whilst working, the applicant will also be studying towards the Level 2 VCSA qualification.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

We are an established, busy practice and would like to support an apprentice to join our team. The right applicant has to be motivated and enthusiastic to work with all domestic animals.
The right applicant duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Helping on reception
- Assisting the Vet with handling animals
- Preparing the surgery before any procedure
Whilst working, the applicant will also be studying towards the Level 2 animal Welfare Care Assistant Apprenticeship Standard.
We are looking for an apprentice to work 30 hours per week and be local to our shop based in Colne.
We expect a lot of applicants towards this role, so please only apply if you are passionate about animals and would like a career in this industry.
The candidate must be confident and enthusiastic working with animals. 20% of the Apprentice's working week will be spent off the job training.
Requirements and prospects
Experience with handling animals.
- Passionate about animals and would like a career in this industry
- Confident and keen to learn new skills
Maths and English GCSE's in C/4 grade or above or equivalent desired.
A great stepping-stone onto a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Welfare qualification, subject to meeting additional entry requirements.
