The apprentice will be responsible for doing the following duties:

  • Shampoo, condition and treat hair and scalp
  • Cut hair
  • Colour and lighten hair
  • Style and finish hair
  • Perm hair
  • Meeting and greeting clients
  • Observing stylists
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the salon
  • Ensuring workstations are ready for clients
  • In time answering the phone and booking in appointments

Keeping a log on their 20% off the job training hours in their learning journal.

Being dedicated and committed to attending assessments dates and zooms sessions with assessor.

Practicing on blocks heads in the salon.

Using own initiative and take responsibility for their own learning.

Future prospects

Once completed level 2 Hair, there is the option to go onto level 2 customer service to build your confidence as a stylist and gain that rapport with clients, this will them help you to work toward level 3 advanced Hair.

Things to consider

The Hair Industry is expected you to work weekends.

As an apprentice you are helping the smooth running of the salon ensuring the salon is kept clean and tidy.
