An award-winning family business, processing and delivering quality wood based animal bedding are looking for an ambitious young person who would be keen to grow and develop with them within their business alongside studying for a L2 qualification in Land Based Service Engineering.

Duties will include:

  • Daily condition checks and cleaning of Bobcats, Loading Shovels and Forklifts
  • Planned maintenance of all plant machinery and equipment
  • Communication with all team members and reports to Transport/Workshop Manager
  • Learn and train to perform preventative maintenance inspections – leading to IRTEC qualification once the apprenticeship is completed
  • Daily checks and cleaning of workshop areas
  • Use of Day book data and software
  • Maintenance of quality systems and related paperwork

Desired skills

  • Successful candidate will need a full driving license and own transport due to nature of th role
  • Have good communication skills

Personal qualities

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a reliable, committed, team player
  • If male, the candidate will need to be clean shaven to ensure correct fit of Respiratory Protective Equipment
  • Be physically fit as role will include some manual handling
  • Be free of respiratory issues including asthma as the environment is dusty
  • Have a positive, “can-do” attitude
  • Be keen to learn and responsive to training
  • Be able to be flexible with shift patterns
  • Be able to work steadily under pressure
  • Be happy to work outside in all weathers and in an environment that can be dusty, noisy (ear defenders are provided) hot or cold
  • Be happy to undertake some repetitive duties at times

Desired qualifications

Ideally the candidate will have English and mathematics GCSE’s at Grade C/4 or equivalent.

TrAC has a 100% success rate of placing it's apprentices into relevent full time work on succesfully completing their apprenticeship.
