We are looking for an apprentice to join our exceptional Chef in the kitchen and learn all aspects of the job. Supporting our Head Chef in the execution of prep and service, you will be supported and encouraged to gain the necessary skills and experience for working in a busy kitchen. 

Our team is newly assembled, having only begun our kitchen service at the end of September and then have had to temporarily close due to Covid-19 tier 3 restrictions. However, we were incredibly encouraged by how popular the Druid Inn was and we can’t wait to get back to what we do best.

Our Head Chef has a wealth of experience and knowledge which he is keen to share with our new team. We are a close team who have great fun whilst offering a professional service with exceptional standards.

You will complete all aspects of kitchen service

  • Help with menu devising 
  • Service prep 
  • Cooking and serving dishes 
  • Clean down 
  • Stock management 
  • Any other duties that befit your role 

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

You should have a passion for cooking and a good work ethic. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and happy to get stuck in to all tasks.

Personal qualities

Friendly, good sense of humour, a team player, the ability to listen to your peers, organised and reliable.

Desired qualifications

You should have a good standard of maths & English ideally GCSE 4/C or above. 

You may be able to study towards equivalent qualifications as part of your apprenticeship depending on individual circumstances. 

Future prospects

There is potential for permanent employment and/or studying an advanced apprenticeship after successfully completing this apprenticeship. 

Things to consider

We will require you to work at weekends and evenings.

Birchover is a little remote so your own access to transport is essential.
