Full range of landscaping projects undertaken by a well-established landscaping company in Thame. Projects you’d be expected to work on will be from small soft landscaping to bigger scale hard landscaping projects. You will be mainly working in small teams constructing beautiful gardens from designs. The company has taken on Apprentices before.

This role is for someone who wants a career in landscaping.
The successful candidate will form part of our team working on both commercial and private projects. Our work is from concept through design and into installation. We offer the complete range of landscaping services. We work at lots of different properties so there is a degree of variety.
Our company is well known for our high professional standards and we expect our apprentices to aspire to be the best. You will be given training on-the-job as well as one day a week at Berkshire College of Agriculture.
Please note that the meeting point each morning is just outside of Thame. If the apprentice lives near-by then there is the possibility of being picked up.
We enjoy all aspects of landscaping with our business being established for some years. We are looking to take on an apprentice who is positive and energetic and wants to learn about the industry we thrive in. We need someone who is polite and friendly who enjoys working outside in all weathers. This role will include lifting of materials.
Tasks will include:
- Preparing and levelling ground
- Erecting fences
- Helping lay patios and paths
- Prepping and laying turf
- Creating beds for planting
- Planting shrubs and plants to design spec
- Garden clearance
- Building decking
- Lawn care
- Using machinery
- Hedge cutting
- Brick work
- Pergola creation
- Some weeding
- Lawn work
- Laying driveways
Previous to you applying, please can you check how you will get to and from work, as well as to college. Your own transport would be advantageous but is not essential.
During your time at Sean Abreu Landscapes you will be collating evidence of learning, be observed and receive training as to how we do things. This is averaged over a 12 - 18 month period and includes time spent at the beginning of the programme completing ‘sign-up’ and functional skills assessment. An assessor will visit you in the work-place every four to eight weeks.

Things to consider
You will be dealing with people so you need to be cheerful. You need to be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers. Be prepared to be involved in all aspects of the work, from labouring right through to laying patios.
