Working alongside other senior chefs in the kitchen, carrying out duties such as: 

  • Vegetable prep,
  • Fish prep,
  • Meat prep,
  • Pastry,
  • Lunch,
  • Dinner service and assisting other senior chefs.
  • Ensuring health and safety of the kitchen is adhered to at all times,
  • Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy,
  • Working alongside the rest of the kitchen to ensure the smooth running.

Things to consider

You will be standing up for long periods of time. You will be expected to work weekends, and bank holidays. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour from 1st October 2016. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
