Desktop support role. Maintaining systems, helpdesk, on site engineer, telecoms, desktop and server support, disaster recovery, PC and laptop builds, call logging, network security, networking, firewalls, wireless technologies, domain and email support, antispam and antivirus, team and individual based work.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Someone who is good at trouble shooting problems, good at communicating and working well in a team. Experience in software and hardware is useful as is Windows 10 knowledge. Needs to be someone who is able to organise themselves and be punctual as well has having a good aptitude for learning and applying what they learn.

Personal qualities

Confidence, ability to forge good relationships, sense of humour, organised, punctual, enthusiastic, independent, good communicator, good grammar and well spoken, tidy, someone who has confidence to blend into new environments and who is not too shy.

Desired qualifications

Must have: 4-5 GCSE C/4 and above or equivalent especially in Maths and English.

Ideal but not necessary: Any ICT related courses and knowledge. Diploma etc handy.

Future prospects

All apprentices will find what roles are there strong points and build on them.  We have product specific online training available. People can work from 1st line support up to 2nd line support. Also there are more field engineer based roles. Over time all candidates will have the ability to move up in the company which will be reflected in pay and position depending their own abilities and ambitions to progress. Company cars are available once engineers are ready especially if they adopt an onsite and helpdesk role.
