This is a very exciting opportunity to start a career as a chef! Everything the Pig Hotel does is driven by the gardener, forager and chef as the team creates the 25-mile menu (what they can't get from their garden and grounds is sourced locally). This immediacy from garden to plate is the Pig Hotels trademark. The menu changes by the minute depending on what the forager finds or the kitchen gardener deems to be in perfect condition. As an Apprentice Chef there you will have a unique opportunity to work as part of this award-winning team learning your trade from some of the best in the industry and gain specific skills such as butchery and bee keeping.


As part of the Pig Hotel Apprenticeship academy you will have the chance to work in the other hotels to broaden your experiences.


On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Helping to maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
  • Maintaining food safety when preparing, storing and cooking food
  • Preparing food
  • Cooking a range of dishes and sauces

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour from 1st October 2016. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
