As a Carer, you should believe passionately about safeguarding the rights and dignities of older people and be able to deliver the highest standards of care with compassion and understanding.

Duties to include:

  • Support residents with personal care and choice when getting dressed
  • Support residents with personal hygiene e.g. toileting, continence care, bathing and grooming
  • Provide a warm and welcoming dinning experience, which will include serving meals, supporting residents at meal times and cleaning tables
  • Support residents to maximise their personal comfort by moving and handling appropriately
  • Provide social engagement with residents by actively listening and talking about their personal interests
  • Assist residents with the daily activities to support with physical and mental stimulation
  • Adhere to residents person-centred care plans by recording observations, e.g. weight, , nutrition, tissue viability and liquid intake
  • Welcome new residents into the home by ensuring they are aware of their new surroundings
  • Accompany residents on trips in the community
  • Accompany residents to medical appointments
  • Observe, monitor and record residents physical and emotional well-being and promptly report any changes
