    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

You will be trained in food preparation and cooking of the menu items to include baking cakes.  

You will be trained in how to make the perfect coffee, learn to use the till system and serve a range or menu items to customers.

In addition there will be a daily and weekly cleaning schedule to complete. You will be responsible for Food Safety and Health and Safety within the restaurant environment.

The job role is physically demanding. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): As from October 1st 2016 the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. Nigel Foster is another well-known local cafe owner &caterer. The Buttercup Buttery kiosk is just a few paces away from the Ebley Mill Pedestrian Swing Bridge. Nigel explained, We are here to serve busy people who have to grab something and go. We are already serving the staff from the offices at Ebley Mill "We are impressed by the number of people using the towpath too. To cater for walkers and cyclists we can do picnic boxes to enjoy further along the canal." In addition to the popular Marshfield Farm Ice Cream Nigel can also provide picnics for the parties who charter the Cotswold Canals Trust Trip Boat Endeavour which operates from the nearby Cloth Mills Bridge. Bread used at Buttercup Buttery is supplied by local business Dangerfields Bakery of Kings Stanley. The residents of the Ebley Wharf apartments & houses can now place daily orders for Dangerfields crusty fresh bread direct from the Buttery.
