Grant's Butchers seek a keen, enthusiastic person willing to take the considerable training required to learn the many aspects of the meat trade to become a fully qualified butcher. You will become an expert of your trade with a quality training structure with support from both the employer and training provider.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Level 2 (GCSE)
You will become an expert of your trade with a quality training structure with support from both the employer and training provider.
Duties to include:
- Serving customers
- Preparing meats
- Cleaning duties
- Stock ordering
- Rotation & handling
- Counter display
- Learning types of cuts
- Learning different processes such as sausage / burger manufacturing
Requirements and prospects
- Ability to communicate
- Must enjoy practical and manual work
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Good manners
- GCSE English and maths or equivalent are desirable however not essential as Functional Skills are offered as part of the Apprenticeship Framework
Possible full time position as a butcher upon completion of the apprenticeship.
Things to consider
You will need to be able to travel to and from work each day.

Local family run business with forty years experience. In the meat trade, busy retail outlet, considerable turnover.
