Damira Dental Studios are looking to recruit a hardworking, reliable and enthusiastic person who wants to develop a career in dental nursing. 

We are a friendly and well-established practice in Headington, Oxford and are looking for someone to join our growing team. 

In-house training will be given by an experienced team and the Apprenticeship qualification will be provided in the workplace.

At Damira Dental Studios we know our Dental Nurses are at the heart of the practice and offer an induction plan and enhanced training to develop and ensure that our Dental Nurses are the best in class!

The role of Dental Nurse means you support your team members across the practice such as Dentists, Endodontists, Orthodontists, Hygienists, Therapists and will also work on Reception and in the Decontamination room. As a Dental Nurse you will need to reassure patients and put them at ease, while supporting your dentist and the practice team to deliver the best patient care.

Working in a dentist practice can be busy and at times and requires excellent team working and an efficient, organised and calm approach to work be able to work quickly and be adaptable to changes.

As well as supporting the Dentist and patients The Dental Nurse has the responsibility for the clinical governance of the surgery.

As a dental nurse your duties would include:

  • Providing chair side assistance to the dentist 
  • Ensure the care and welfare of patients 
  • Preparing and maintaining the clinical environment 
  • Sterilisation of instruments 
  • Mixing materials 
  • Charting on the computer 
  • Complying with strict cross infection procedures 
  • Developing digital x-rays 
  • Ensure adequate stocks of materials are within the surgery 
  • Carrying out some reception and administrative tasks

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE maths and English Grade C and above (or equivalent)
  • (Qualification will be checked before your application is submitted to the employer)
  • An initial assessment for maths and English is also required
