With supervision, support and training the role will include:

  • Managing the finance email inboxes, assigning queries, printing and matching related documents together.
  • Processing of purchase request forms, including receipting twice a month.
  • Matching purchase invoices to relevant authorisations.
  • Supporting the processing of monthly and ad-hoc sales invoices.
  • Supporting the processing of expense claims.
  • Supporting credit control, including sending statements and chasing payment by phone, letter and e-mail.
  • Opening and distributing of post within the department.
  • Maintaining an efficient filing system Answer telephone enquiries or redirect/take messages as appropriate.
  • Any other duties reasonably requested by the line manager.

The successful candidate will ensure all duties are carried out within required timescales, contribute to the sharing of good practice and support continuous improvement throughout the Company. They will promote a positive image of the Company and all of the services it delivers and actively contribute to maintenance of a professional and welcoming environment.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Experience of using Microsoft applications; Word, Access, Excel, Outlook to manipulate data, create and edit documentation.

  • Time Management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

Qualifications required

  • Educated to GCSE level. Minimum five at grade C or above including Maths & English (or equivalent) Computer Skills

As an Accountancy Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the new apprenticeship standard, Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship at Level 3. Within the apprenticeship you will undertake the AAT Level 3 qualification which will be completed at a BPP centre or via the Online Classroom Live platform, in addition to at the workplace.
