About the employer

Limehurst Academy is a happy and successful 11-16 school, located in the centre of the university town of Loughborough. The school has an excellent reputation in the local community and also attracts pupils from outside its catchment area; as such, it is over-subscribed. Over 40% of our pupils are from minority ethnic backgrounds. A large number of these pupils are of Bangladeshi and Indian backgrounds, but there are many others including children of university students from all over the world. The school is strongly committed to valuing diversity and this drives our vision of the school at the heart of the community. GCSE results in 2017 show that Limehurst is achieving extremely well. A Progress 8 score of +0.37, and an English Baccalaureate pass rate of 46% (C/4+) show that the school is one of the highest-performing in Leicestershire, and achieving well above national averages. The curriculum is wide-ranging, and is both flexible and rigorous enough to meet the needs of all students. Pastoral care is excellent; the school’s motto is ‘Achievement in a Caring Environment’. In June 2017, Limehurst became the first Leicestershire secondary school to be accredited with the prestigious Inclusion Quality Mark. In March 2017, Ofsted judged that the school remained good, and found high-quality teaching and learning, a curriculum that meets the needs of all students, a high level of student achievement, strong leadership and a pastoral care system that supports and nurtures all members of the school community. Our staff are of the very highest quality, and incredibly committed to the school. Staff development is given a high priority at every stage of a teacher’s career.
