Chapel Street Nursery School first opened its doors to the very young in June 1973. In 1979 the first Mother and Toddler group was set up. In 2002 more changes were made to the school as it became an Early Excellence Centre and children from 3 months to 5 years are now given quality day care 48 weeks of the year. In September 2008 Chapel Street Nursery School became a Children's Centre. The school is maintained by Luton Borough council, and employs teachers and early years staff.
