Supporting the Premises Manager to make the school available and safe and maintained in a clean and presentable condition at all times.

Assisting in securing the building and its contents.

Assisting in responding to emergency call outs.

Undertaking maintenance work as directed by the premises Manager and Operations team.

Organising own workloads ensuring that all appropriate tasks are completed on time.

Complying with all Health and Safety Legislation and environmental standards.

Assisting in liaising with all contractors, providing supervision and guidance when they are on site.

Any other relevant work as directed by the Premises Manager, Operations Team and/or Head Teacher.


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Experience of keeping work records.

Able to demonstrate a good all round standard of education and understanding of the role.

Willing to undertake the NVQ level 2 training in Facilities Management.

To have basic knowledge of Health and Safety issues relevant to the post.

Ability to effect minor repairs.

Personal qualities

Works well as part of a team.

Has good practical skills, knowledge and understanding.

Enjoys working with their hands.

ICT literate.

Relates well with children and adults.

To be flexible as working hours may change as you may be expected to work split shifts and also during school hours.

To share the same moral and social values that the school wishes to promote.

Qualifications required

Demonstrates good basic general education including a good standard of literacy and numeracy.  (e.g. GCSE Grade C in English and maths or equivalent).
