    1 available

We are general builders, and work on extensions and conversions. This means that the job can include all aspects of building such as:

  • Digging foundations (e.g. Groundworks) ,
  • Bricklaying (including mortar mixing),
  • Setting out, block and beam floors,
  • Roofing,
  • Window fitting,
  • Plastering,
  • Dry-lining,
  • Electrics,
  • Plumbing,
  • Tiling,
  • Carpentry work, etc.

We are not looking for someone to just make the tea, and man the cement mixer, you will be gradually given opportunities to listen and learn skills, and carry out skilled jobs when you are ready to. All aspects of building in our opinion are of equal importance, we all need to get stuck in and be prepared to work as a team.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

About the employer

We have a combined 35 years of building experience and have recently progressed to set up our own limited company. Alan and Stanle, together with our employee Jake, work in domestic building, including extensions, conversions, bathrooms and general house remodels. We work on all aspects of the building work, and can do everything (except gas works). We are liked and respected by our customers and most of our work comes from recommendations.
