As part of the on-going growth of the business in Birmingham, Wates Living Space are offering opportunities for those that want to work in Construction as Multi-Trade Maintenance Professionals. This is an exciting long-term career opportunity which will see the Apprentices being paid £5.00 per hour initially and working with and being mentored by a range of qualified specialists.

This company is passionate about developing skills for its staff and have invested in numerous apprentices some of which are now enjoying rewarding careers in the business. You will be attending College in Birmingham 1 day per week for 2 years working towards your Maintenance Operations Level 2 Construction Qualification. This is a rare opportunity where you'll be working for one of the largest privately owned construction companies in the UK. You will be working on a contract that supports the delivery of housing improvement works and gas servicing across over 31,000 properties in Birmingham!

About the role:

As a Multi-Trade Maintenance Operations apprentice you will be working alongside an experienced tradesperson to gain experience in many areas including Plumbing, Tiling, Painting and Decorating, Plastering and Joinery.

Responsibilities will include understanding and following Health & Safety procedures, providing a high level of customer service at all times and assisting an experienced tradesperson with property maintenance repairs across Birmingham.

Where is the role based?

The role is based out of our Tamworth office, with travel throughout Tamworth. Apprentices must be able to get themselves to the office for 7.30 am.

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is �3.40 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
