    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

  • Working week

    Monday-Thursday 8am - 4pm Friday 8am - 2pm 30 minutes for lunch Monday to Thursday. Plenty of overtime available(If age appropriate).

As an apprentice with us your day to day duties would include:

  • Creating cut lists from CAD drawings
  • Measuring and cutting materials
  • Fabricating bespoke work from drawings including welding, bending, heating and fettling

Duties will also include:

  • Occasional site work installing our products across the south UK

Ideally the right candidate will be open to overnight stays however this does not happen often.

We would really like our apprentice to want to soak up as much knowledge and skills in all areas as possible to become a key player in the company's growth.

Qualifications required

No mandatory qualifications required but applicants will need to be assessed by the college in order to ascertain current learning level.

Future prospects

This is a real opportunity for someone to join a new and fast growing company, if the candidate performs well and grows with us then there is plenty of opportunity to take on further roles and develop. This will include a Level 3 City and Guilds Advanced Welding course. We will always provide additional training where possible.

Things to consider

The role can be physically demanding with a lot of heavy lifting, ideally the candidate will have own transport however there are bus stops close by the busy trading estate.
