TG Engineering are looking to recruit two eager Apprentices to join our busy team and will be required to train towards being a CNC Machinist- Cad Cam

You will be reporting to the Production Manager and training will be given covering Inspection techniques using conventional methods and tools up to the operation of CMMs before moving on to CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, CNC Mill/Turn where experience will be gained in the setting & operating. Then next moving onto program editing and the writing of full programs.

Training on both the above will include all aspects of Health & Safety to ensure we maintain our safe systems of work.

Desired skills

Evidence of practical hobbies will be an advantage.

Personal qualities

An interest in engineering will be essential, as will be a mature attitude towards health and safety.

Qualifications required

Applicants should have 4 GCSEs at grades B or above, including English language, maths and a science subject (predicted grades or equivalent qualifications).  Candidates will also be required to sit some aptitude tests.

We believe in Apprenticeships and hope our Apprentices will want to build their careers with us.

Things to consider

Applicants need to be aware that some of their training will take place, full time in Southampton; we will help towards travel expenses but applicants need to be committed to all aspects the Apprenticeship programme. We take health and safety very seriously. Training will be given and we expect our Apprentices to maintain our safe systems of work.

Training provider

Working with SETA, our training provider, TG Engineering have designed an Apprenticeship training programme that meets our needs and will challenge our Apprentices to do well.

Initially, you will be training to the required certification level in order that you will be able to attain the experience in the workplace.

This is an advanced apprenticeship at level 3 and you will begin at SETA for a full time block to gain the training required to enable you to begin work at TG Engineering.

The next stage would be gaining more experience in the workplace and completing a log book and preparing to complete the apprenticeship by successfully attaining the end point assessment

You will also be required to gain your functional skills level 2 in Mathematics and English (unless previously attained or equivalent qualification already gained)
