Things to consider

This is a real role working as part of a hard working team on building sites in most weathers all year round. It will only suit someone who is comfortable spending the majority of their time outside doing practical work often in cold, wet, dirty, noisy, dusty, hot – even sometimes smelly conditions! Work is frequently physically demanding. As this is an entry level role within the team, you will be expected to undertake a lot of the more manual tasks but in return will receive the opportunity to develop your skills and use them to complete “real world” work. As such a good level of personal strength and fitness are required. Working in a small team focused on the job on site requires a sensible and mature attitude to work. This role will suit someone with a strong level of motivation to be part of the team getting the job done who is willing to contribute wherever they can. Whilst working hrs are not excessive it is necessary to maintain some flexibility to ensure work can be completed on target if disrupted by weather etc. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
