    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

  • Answering  the telephone, administrative e-mail and in-person enquiries (one hour per day).
  • Help co-ordinate and promote a range of annual events, organise and assist with promotions, networks, publicity or training as required.
  • Liaise with IT support service.
  • Maintain office stationery.
  • Organise, co-ordinate and plan various meetings including booking venues, ordering refreshments, liaising with participants and taking minutes.

Desired skills

  • The applicant will gain a range of customer service skills contributing to improved customer service delivery.
  • You will act as a first point of contact at the CVS greeting service user on the phone, replying to emails and greeting people at reception.

Personal qualities

  • Outgoing, confident with good attention to detail.

Qualifications required

  • English writing skills to enable the drafting of emails.
  • Understanding and use of some Microsoft Office skills mainly.
