    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

    Hours will vary on a rota basis, this will account for your college day but is likely to include some evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

We are looking for a passionate new kitchen assistant to work in an established kitchen team serving 1000-1800 covers per week. You will get involved with all aspects of food preparation, service and kitchen hygiene.

We also have a sister company, Peak Venues, which offers catering for corporate events.

Duties likely to include; 

  • Preparation for service 
  • Preparing food as ordered during service 
  • Observing high standards of hygiene before and after service 
  • Ensuring stock is stored corrected and rotated to reduce waste whilst using fresh ingrediants 
  • Cleaning of the kitchen areas 
  • Corporate catering preparation and service 
  • Any other duties that befit your position within the business

Qualifications required

You should have a good standard of Maths & English – and enthusiasm for the industry.
