We are looking for someone who is willing to show and progress their skills.

The job will involve:

  • Serving customers and dealing with day-to-day sales
  • Getting to know the customers and forming a bond with them
  • Processing orders
  • Dealing with the warehouse side of things; for example, checking stock, booking in deliveries and ensuring all deliveries are correct.

Through the duration of the apprenticeship you will be learning the business side of the shop, this will involve producing quotes for customers, dealing with invoices and delivery notes from suppliers and dealing with any queries from customers.

Desired skills

Skills that are required are basic computer skills, numeracy and literacy.

Personal qualities

We would like a pleasant and confident individual, who is able to deal with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications required

We would ideally like someone with 5 GCSE's or equivalent grades A*-C

Future prospects

By completing this Apprenticeship it could lead to a job as a Manager in Sales department or administration department. You could also progress on to be the head sales assistant within the company.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. The training provided will consist of a standard health and safety training procedure. You will also receive training in the systems we use to produce sales and orders. You would also receive training in accounts and marketing.
