About the employer

Regal Chambers is a GP Surgery based in Hitchin town centre. We are a large practice, providing NHS services to roughly 12,800 patients in Hitchin and the surrounding villages. The practice team is made up of 9 GP partners, 7 nursing team members (including practice nurses, urgent care nurses and healthcare assistants) and a large administrative/reception support team. We are also a teaching and training practice, teaching medical students and training qualified doctors.

The practice is fully computerised and uses a clinical system called SystmOne for all clinical data entry. Non clinical staff use the system to make appointments, invite patients to attend specialist clinics i.e. patients with asthma, diabetes etc, scanning documents into patient records and referral letters. The system also allows us to text patients regarding appointments and follow ups.

We are a teaching and training practice and we are therefore keen to employ an apprentice to build and nurture the successful applicant’s administrative skills, knowledge and confidence in the workplace.
