    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

This is an amazing opportunity for 3 aspiring hairdressers to achieve a qualification and become a part of the Richard Wallace team. If you have a brilliant attitude, great client care and a passion for hairdressing we'd like to talk to you. You'll have the opportunity to build your skills and gain a NVQ Level 2 or 3 and be part of a successful, expanding salon with exciting career opportunities. Applicants will need a positive attitude and the ability to offer great customer service.

You will be working in the salon with your assessor training with you on a Monday at the salon allowing you to complete exams, observations and assessments

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Shampoo and conditioning
  • Salon cleaning
  • Taking off colours
  • Reception duties
  • Making and serving refreshments
  • Completing all units for your hairdressing qualifications
