    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage rates are £4.05 an hour for 16 - 17 year olds, £5.60 an hour for 18 - 20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship(usually one day per week).

  • To use and take care of all equipment and materials to use for the undertaking of your duties.
  • To carry out general horticultural operations, grass cutting, hedge trimming, leaf and litter clearance etc.
  • To ensure that footpaths and open spaces are left clear of debris and waste after operations have taken place.
  • To ensure that all machinery and materials are correctly used and maintained.
  • To communicate with the public in a polite and courteous manner when required to do so.
  • To undertake on and off the job training.
  • To carry out administration tasks appropriate to your role.
  • To wear and ensure that other staff wear appropriate protective clothing.
  • To comply with the corporate personnel policies and practises, particularly absence management, health and safety and equalities.
  • To undertake such duties as are appropriate to your grade and hours of work as may reasonably be required of you by your line manager.
