Duties would include:

  • Provide support for IT applications and solutions, from troubleshooting and system monitoring to incident resolution
  • PC Procurement and user support; Various Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 2016 and various other PC applications
  • End Point Cyber threat prevention.
  • iOS Device procurement and support
  • Office 365 user setup and training
  • Network Administration; LAN, Wireless and documentation

  • WebEx and Video conferencing support
  • Sharepoint administration
  • Sitekit CMS support and web development
  • Involvement in various IT programs, to include O365, Cyber Threat prevention and new Microsoft application from O365

Qualifications required

Minimum GCSE grades A* to C (or equivalent) including Maths and English. All applicants will be required to pass initial assessments in Maths, English and ICT.

Future prospects

May lead to permanent employment for the right candidate on completion of the apprenticeship. An advanced apprenticeship in IT can lead to jobs such as Software or Web Developer, Support Engineer, Software Tester or Network Planner, and much more. You could progress to a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms.

Things to consider

Driving licence preferable but not essential A negotiable salary is offered dependant on experience and ability. The salary will be reviewed with progression. You must be able to get to and from the place of work and college in a timely manner. Advanced Apprenticeships in IT and Telecoms can take up to 24 months to complete, although the actual duration will depend on your job role and previous experience. To assist you during your apprenticeship, you may be required to purchase some equipment and resources to support you during your course. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
