The role will involve assisting our forage crops trials team with all aspects of our trials activities.  The main crops will include forage maize, grass and root crops.  Trials are located around the UK.  the company also runs a large demonstration site with a range of arable, forage and environmental crops. The main jobs will include:

  • Preparing seeds for planting
  • Drilling and assessing trial plots
  • Collecting data
  • Tidying and maintaining trail areas
  • Erecting fencing and signage
  • Harvesting trials
  • Weighing, sampling and recording

Qualifications required

  • GCSE's (or equivalent) in Maths, English and a Science based subject is required.
  • An interest in farming and agriculture would be beneficial.

The vacancy is based out of town, so you will need to ensure that you can get to and from the work site in line with the required hours. If you are short listed for this vacancy you may need to attend more than one interview. The role will involve working outdoors/in all weathers/driving agricultural vehicles. Clothing and safety wear including boots will be provided. A clean driving licence is essential.
