  • Helping the accounts team with varied tasks, including data entry onto spreadsheets.
  • Dealing with clients and other team members.
  • Helping with general office duties when required.
  • Preparation and submission various documents to HMRC and Companies House ; VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax and Self-Assessment returns to HMRC, and ensuring all filing deadlines are met.
  • Assistance with the preparation of year end statutory accounts, and sending final documents to clients.
  • Helping with production of our client';s management and management accounts and other ad hoc financial reporting.
  • Accurate recording of all financial transactions onto specialist accountancy and tax software.
  • Between £140 and £175 per week, depending on experience to date, and will be subject to review depending on the applicant';s progress.
  • 9am to 5pm ( with 1 hour for lunch).

Future prospects

Progression onto the level 4 AAT, and further study If proven to be capable, applicant could take on a portfolio of clients, where the applicant will be the first point of all for these clients, and become a client manager';.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
