    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage rates are £4.05 an hour for 16 - 17 year olds, £5.60 an hour for 18 - 20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship(usually one day per week).

We are looking for an Apprentice Purchasing Administrator to work in our busy Central Purchasing Office, which is the Purchasing Hub for our Divisions.

You will produce forecasts and monitor stock levels for your allocated product range, placing orders with Suppliers and progressing delivery. You must ensure all required data is accurately and promptly input onto our Stock Database, and undertake Stock Takes when required as well as assisting with general Purchasing Office routines. Training will be given where necessary.

We are seeking someone who is PC Literate, particularly in Microsoft Office. With first class communication skills, and excellent interpersonal abilities. Numerate, Well Organised, and with an outstanding attention to detail.

You will be a good Team player in what is a highly demanding environment. Self-Motivated, able to both anticipate and meet deadlines. You will be Confident, Enthusiastic, Adaptable and Ambitious.

Qualifications required

You will be expected to have achieved/predicted Five GCSEs Grades A* – C with minimum Grade C in English and Maths.

  • Full Business Admin Apprenticeship incorporating NVQ at Level 2, where evidence will be gathered to build a portfolio showing your competency within the role.
  • Functional Skills to include Maths, English and IT (depending on award and previous qualifications) where a tested part will be completed. 
  • Complete a Technical Certificate to underpin your knowledge of working in the sector, this also comes with a tested part.
