The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
The main function of this role will be to provide support to the consultants who are offering advice and valuations to their clients. As well as range of basic administration tasks, the role will involve collecting information from clients so that the consultants can make accurate assessments and valuations.
With on going training the apprentice will be doing the following daily tasks:
- Calling clients to gather information.
- Recording information accurately and updating the database accordingly.
- Gathering together documentation that the consultants will need when making valuations. This will also involve in dealing with paperwork both pre and post meetings that consultants have with the clients.
The apprentice will also be involved in other tasks such as photocopying, filing, sending/receiving post and answering the telephone in a polite and timely fashion.
Requirements and prospects
- Good attention to detail.
- Good telephone manner.
- IT skills to include working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Desire to do a good job.
- Ability to work in a team
About the employer
The successful candidate will work towards the Diploma in Business and Administration Level 2 as part of the apprenticeship framework.
