This is an exciting opportunity to complete an apprenticeship and develop both your business, negotiation and procurement (of services and/or goods) skills within the Professional Services department of Norfolk Educational Services (NES), based at City College Norwich.

The Professional Services department provides a technical base for NES (and the TEN Group) covering legal, contractual, procurement, insurance, policy making, information compliance and governance matters. 

The post reports to the Insurance and Procurement Officer and you would be working closely with fellow team members throughout NES and the Group. Your role will be to assist the Insurance and Procurement Officer with the delivery of a first class procurement service supporting the strategies of NES and the TEN Group. You will be led by the Insurance and Procurement Officer in the co-ordination, monitoring and administering of tendering procedures, quotations, customer, and supplier correspondence in order to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Group policies.

You will undertake a NVQ Level 3 Business Administration qualification with the following mandatory modules:

  • Unit 303 Negotiate in a Business Environment.
  • Unit 340 Procure products and/or services.

As part of this role and the skills and experience you will gain will equip you to successfully complete this qualification.

Qualifications required

  • Level 2 literacy and numeracy qualifications or willing to undertake and achieve within 2 years.
  • An Administration qualification is desirable but not essential.

Future prospects

At the end of the apprenticeship you are not guaranteed a role within the wider team, you will complete your apprenticeship within your 18 month contract.

Things to consider

Occasional early starts or evening work may also be required during peak periods. The College is still open during non-term time and the team operates as usual in these periods however annual leave can be taken. Annual leave may not be taken during peak times. The role requires professionalism in all forms such as dress code, attitude and use of all equipment and systems.
