    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Cheshire Teaching Agency, In Sandbach, are searching to recruit an Administration Assistant Apprentice to join their team.

Daily duties:

  • Managing the info@ email account.
  • Answering telephone calls.
  • Liaising with candidates and updating their records.
  • Maintaining the filing system.
  • Providing general assistance to consultants.
  • Typing emails and letters.

New Applications:

  • Liaise with Admin sector to check regularly for incoming applications on indeed.
  • Check applications meet certain criteria.
  • Searching various job sites for potential candidates.
  • Pass candidates to sector to complete telephone interview.


  • Print Interview packs as required.
  • Send availability mailer to candidates every Thursday.
  • Update Availability on system every Friday/Monday.


  • Taking bookings on a morning, complete a booking slip and handing to consultant.
  • Calling candidate to check availability for work.
  • Calling clients to confirm workers for that day.
  • Add bookings to system.
  • Sending confirmation of booking emails candidates.
  • Completing first day checks for all new starters.
  • Add bookings to the Weekly Figures Spreadsheet.
  • Print booking slips as required.

Job Boards/Social Media:

  • Update the company website with job adverts and current news.
  • Update Job boards, and with regular job adverts.
  • Regular update of the company social media sites on Twitter, Faceboook and Linkedin.

Leads Spreadsheet:

  • Checking competitor websites and passing leads to the relevant consultant.
  • Checking the County Council Website and updating the leads spreadsheet.
  • Checking individual school websites for leads and updating the Leads spreadsheet.


  • Assisting Consultants in creating marketing information to send to clients.
  • Batching mailers, put in envelopes and mail to clients.
  • Researching the internet for new business contacts for the consultants to call.

Careers Fairs:

  • Attending Careers fairs with consultants on an ad hoc basis.
