This role incorporates study and completion of the Business Admin Apprenticeship whilst working in the finance department during a one year fixed term placement.


  1. To assist the finance team in the creation of outbound invoices.
  2. To fully assist with the day to day running of the finance department.
  3. To help other team members at times of staff absence and peak demand.
  4. To help with the transfer to automated invoicing (full SAGE training will be given)
  5. To support all team members and learn all aspects of the departments duties

Key Tasks:

A successful applicant will be expected to assist in the following tasks on a regular basis:


  1. Credit referencing of potential customer.
  2. Checking sales orders for accuracy and content.
  3. To assist with the migration to a paperless office.
  4. To undertake a support role for VAT, Payroll and Accounts Receivable.
  5. To help prepare quarterly commissions
  6. An involvement in Credit Control.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  1. Numeracy at a high level
  2. Good levels of literacy.
  3. Be comfortable with Microsoft Excel

Be prepared to work hard, learn and be part of an exacting team in a fast growing business.

Qualifications required

Maths and English minimum Grade C or equivalent or above

Future prospects

It is anticipated that upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship, and assuming good performance, that a permanent position will be available.

Things to consider

As of April 1st 2017 the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.50 per This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate their age applies. The Wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
