Fresh Smile Clinic, based in Brighouse are looking to take on a Level 3 Trainee Dental Nurse. If you are eager to learn and have always had a keen interest in Dental Nursing then this could be the position for you!

Some of the jobs listed below will be part of your day to day activity:

  • Keep the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate according to the practices health and safety and infection control procedures and manufacturers' instructions.
  • Provide chairside assistance, ensuring that the correct equipment is available
  • Ensure the care and welfare of patients in a friendly, helpful, courteous, professional and confidential manner
  • Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed and being responsible for recording patient information on the practice database
  • Handle all substances in accordance with health and safety policies
  • Ensure adequate stocks of materials and other items within the surgery
  • Liaise with reception to ensure smooth patient communications and transfer of records

Qualifications required

  • GCSE A to C in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Access to the Internet and PC is mandatory as all coursework is submitted to your assessor via an online electronic portfolio.

There are a range of post registration courses available for dental nurses looking to further their education. They may include a range of higher education qualifications or other work-related education and training to support continuing profession development such as Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing, Certificate in Oral Health Education etc.

Competency qualification: Apprentices will be required to produce work and build an e-portfolio of evidence through blended learning which will include practical and written knowledge assessments which are carried out in the workplace.  
Knowledge:  Underpinning knowledge will involve attending Bradford College on a day-release basis
Functional Skills at level 2 in Maths and English:  Functional Skills (projects and tests) will be taught in the classroom for a period of 15 weeks (half a day per functional skill)
Extended award in Employment and Personal skills (a combination of Employment Rights & Responsibilities and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills) will be delivered by  e-learning, research and the completion of a workbook and assignment.
