The main duties are as follows:

  • Administration and General Duties
  • Answering phone calls and taking messages
  • Filing
  • Going to the post office and helping with post
  • Going to the bank
  • Assisting in the recording of incoming and outgoing records
  1. Book keeping and Accounting duties

  • Organising book keeping records in an orderly fashion
  • Sorting receipts and purchase invoices
  • Processing primary records using accounting software
  • Performing bank reconciliations and agreeing bank balance to cash book balance
  • Entering sales invoices into accounting software
  • Entering purchase invoices into accounting software
  • Calculating vat
  • Reconciling various control accounts
  • Processing payroll
  1. Tax

  • Obtaining information to prepare client tax returns including
  • Obtaining P60 and entering tax software
  • Obtaining bank and building society interest and entering tax software
  • Obtaining rental income details and expenses and entering tax software
  • Obtaining details of charitable and pension payments and entering onto the tax software
  • Processing relevant information as required

Hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

Qualifications required

1. Full-time opportunity may be available if the candidate excels in the role. 2. Higher level Apprenticeship available following successful completion of the initial Apprenticeship.
