The successful Commis/Craft Chef will fully understand how the role contributes to the success of a Fine-Dining restaurant. Build effective and constructive relationships, communicate clearly, professionally and concisely. Maintain a good level of understanding of the restaurant and hospitality industry. Be willing to learn British/French inspired international cuisines.

  • Undertake a varied list of food preparation
  • Ensure all production is of high quality
  • Keeping the workplace clean and tidy
  • Some kitchen porter duties
  • Carry out any other duties as required by management

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

You will need to have a lot of stamina, be able to learn on your feet and be passionate about food because cooking in a high pressure kitchen is hard work. Needs to be versatile, because it is important that you gain experience in all sections of the kitchen - fish, pastry, butchery etc.
